Develop a close guy friendship with someone locally

Guys have a hard time getting close to other guys, with having deep friendships in general. I've found this to be true even more as I grow older, get specialized interests, and have moved around so often. If you are like me and perhaps have a few close friends, but they are not geographically close (and thus quite limited) -perhaps its time to risk a new friendship?

The Story

Well, this isn't a new friendship, but here it is. Mark used to work at a bar a frequented. He left then a few years later, became an owner of another bar I frequented. It was then that we really started talking and hanging out. We don't go out that many times a year, we're both pretty busy, but somehow, our friendship runs deep. He's a good guy, with a great heart, and a long pour. The Mars Bar, folks!!
