Travel alone in a foreign country

so i was traveling the yucatan penninsula. i was 17 or 18. i had two friends at first until one of them cut open their head jumping me on my bed by contacting the ceiling fan in the upward portion of his attack. i ran out of money and went to the beach near tulm. i drank coconut milk for hydration and ate bimbo bread with peanut butter and orange tang. today i hate coconut. i also had an ounce of mushrooms that i proceded to eat daily. i reached an intimate comunion with natures forces that week and a half as i argued with the clouds, berated the crabs, and huddled like a small rodent under palm leaves feeling like i had won a small battle. i made a beach shack out of floatsam in the wind to keep the mosquitos away which of course left me shivering though the night with my walkman and four mixed tapes that primarily included jimi hendrix. i did get some kind of malaria disease that left me shivering in the hammock for a few days unitl my freinds found me and took me to a hospital. i came home.
