C'mon, my dad had a blue bug (which my mom blew up the gears by driving in 3rd thinking she was in fourth across WA state, haha), and then when my bros and I were little, they had a vw bus (which was hit and run at night by a swervy driver), and then they had the first (maybe second) of many vw vanagons here in my home town. As much as they tried to hide the hippy element, Mom always had a huge garden and we always ate brown rice....what more proof do you need? hahah
