Develop a habit of genuine self-acceptance

Only you will know when this has become a genuine habit, but I think it is a very worth while challenge, and one that I am working on.

The Story

the older I get, the happier I am.

I realize more and more how it's my job to use My voice and My talents, to follow My bliss, and determine what that is.

Oddly, being injured physically and emotionally has helped me accept myself where I am, as has yoga, in its way. Operating within limitations helps, offers me a context in which to view myself, my actions.

It's almost as if, when the sky's the limit, you have no idea how close you're getting to the top, but if you know that touching your toes is the limit, that's quantifiable. Granted, the boundaries of the universe and my capabilities all are changing all the time, so I spend a lot of time pushing those envelopes. Thanks to age and wisdom and enough recovery from enough heartache and injury, I have the courage and confidence to push those limits.

I had parents who believe in me, was raised in an environment that actually let me be a child for long enough, and have grown up to be successful in my own (and my mother's, most of the time) perception.

I'm fairly happy with the material proof of how I'm doing, and am very happy with my approach. I'm looking forward to being 94 and posing for nude photos, hanging out with people of all ages, and continuing to learn forever.
