Travel alone in a foreign country

I'm currently in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.  Not so much off the beaten path, but definitely pretty intimidating.  I'm attempting to assimilate.  I ride my bike everywhere, just like a true Amsterdammer.  Even in the snow!  I took this photo of myself today after a particularly snowy and miserable bike ride.  The other photo is of the street sign for Tweede Leeghwaterstraat, the street I'm living on for the next few months, which today I learned means, literally, "Second Empty Water Street" which was apparently a joke name.  The third photo is of my bike (with my purse, and a shopping bag from HEMA strapped to the back) which I've named Annika.  I don't know why, she just seemed like an Annika to me.

Anyway, I'm living here until mid-may, travelling around and going to school.  So there you go.
