Become a regular at your favorite restaurant

Whether this means having a "the usual," chatting with the owner, getting the hookup, or something else is up to you. But you must prove that you are in fact a "regular" at this restaurant.

The Story

There's a restaurant that I go to all the time called Kaila's Cafe.  It's owned by a Nigerian man named Kevin who moved to the United States to go to school.  He eventually dropped out and just kind of started hopping around from one job to another and partying.  He met a woman named Tracy, and they had a child together and named her Kaila.  They opened the restaurant together and named it after her.  Things started going downhill in their relationship, and one day, Tracy drained their joint bank account and left Kevin to operate the restaurant on his own while she moved with Kaila to Michigan.

Kevin got stuck with this restaurant that he doesn't really want, and it's not really popular with the locals.  Most of the people who go there are the students from the nearby college (like me).  Because he just sits in his restaurant all day (and often sleeps there) he's always up for conversation.  So there's many a time when I go in, get myself a fried plantain (cooked dodo style as is the practice in Nigeria) and I'll just sit and talk with Kevin for hours.

The attached video is me covertly filming him while we're discussing the difference between the Dutch and Deutschland (because he said he always thought the Dutch were from Deutschland, that Dutch was another name for German just like Deutschland means Germany).  And for the attached photo, he ever so politely said, "What are you taking a picture of me for??"

Anyway, he's one of the most interesting people to talk to around, and he's always there to lend an ear to listen.  Not to mention the food is great, as are the prices (especially after my student discount and my being-awesome discount).
